 GSECARS hosted two experiments at 13 IDE for high school students in the Exemplary Student Research Program representing two local area high schools (Glenbard East HS, Oak Lawn HS).


 GSECARS hosted the COMPRES Mineral Physics Long Range Strategic Planning Meeting, Oct 10-12, 2014.


 GSECARS and APS hosted the Synchrotron Environmental Science VI Conference (SECS) in September 2014. 


 GSECARS  GSE particpated in the APS Neutron and X-ray Scattering School, June 18, 2014. 


 GSECARS  particpated in the APS XAFS School in July, 2014.


 GSECARS hosted three summer interns, Peter Hong, Catherine Eng and Andrea Bryant.

► Outreach 2015

 GSECARS and Miami University hosted a XAFS Mini Workshop in March, 2015.


 GSECARS particpated in the APS Neutron and X-ray Scattering School in June, 2015. 


 GSECARS participated in the NSF REU Program in June, 2015. The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation. REU projects involve students in meaningful ways in ongoing research programs or in research projects specifically designed for the REU program.


 GSECARS participated in the DOE INCREASE Workshop (Interdisciplinary Consortium for Research and Educational Access in Science and Engineering) in September, 2015. INCREASE is a consortium of universities whose mission is to promote research and education in Minority-Serving Institutions, especially as regards increasing their utilization of national user facilities, thereby increasing the numbers of women and those from historically underrepresented groups who pursue science and engineering careers.


 GSECARS participated in the NSF NEON (National Ecological Observatory Network) Tour in November, 2015. 


 GSECARS hosted one summer intern, Andrea Bryant.  Mentor : Steve Sutton. Project :  “Determination of Cr, Ti, and V Valences in Olivine and Pyroxene from Ureilites”.
