Outreach 2005 – 2009

► Outreach 2005

► GeoSoilEnviroCARS scientists and staff participated in the “Science Careers” videoconference series organized by Argonne National Laboratory.

The program was aimed at sophomore, junior or senior level science classes and the “Science Careers” videoconference series consists of 45-minute interactive sessions offered approximately once a month during the school year.  The idea is to get high school science students to interact with scientists and other technical professionals, so that the students are acquainted with real scientists, and become somewhat familiar with careers in the sciences.

The videoconference series provides the opportunity for students to interact with scientists and other technical professionals on a relatively informal basis.  The outcome is a better informed student body regarding scientific and technical careers and the interaction promotes the development of the next generation of scientists and technicians.
