Hands-on Workshop

Registration is closed!

This hands-on workshop is open to all researchers who are interested in conducting in-situ studies of rock deformation, with priority given to graduate students and early career scientists. If you are interested in participating, please send your application to Wen-lu Zhu (wzhu@umd.edu).

The application should include:

  1. A brief CV
  2. A statement of research interests describing how this AE workshop could help advance your research

Once your application is approved by the steering committee, ISRD will provide travel support (up to $1200) for your trip to APS. To provide hands-on experience, the workshop is limited to 12 participants. The application deadline is extended to February 10, 2023, or when all slots are filled, whichever comes first.

The morning session on March 7 is devoted to presentations on theory and practical issues of the AE technique, as well as its applications to earth science problems (see agenda for details).
